Simon Cureton - Surrogacy Lawyer

Equal Justice Lawyers

A vision and ethos of Simone Cureton

After many years in legal administration, I developed an interest in the law and also gained insight into the stressful situation people experience navigating the legal system. I wanted to be able to do more to help and made the decision to balance my work and family life with study; and completed a Bachelor of Laws through the University of Adelaide.

Upon graduation inu 2016, I secured a position with a large ‘defendant-side’ insurance firm. Following a brief exposure in that role to the South Australian Employment Tribunal where I instead acted for a worker, I knew my true passion lay with assisting people. Since then, I have worked in a number of legal firms specialising in workplace injury law but decided to start my own practice which now focusses only on Surrogacy.

I have a special interest in Surrogacy law after carrying a child as a gestational surrogate in 2018 and again in 2021. I pride myself on my unique insight into the intricacies of surrogacy. I am heavily involved in the community and want to ensure all teams receive accurate, fair priced advice and legal services.

During my university years and in volunteering with various community legal services, it became apparent to me that a large proportion of people simply do not have access to legal services - services that should be accessible to all! It was at this time that ‘Equal Justice’ was formed in my mind. My vision, within my practice areas, is to provide legal services that are accessible to all, and this is why I dedicate time to provide free advice to help people with untangling their problems.

Whilst my practice is still called ‘Equal Justice Lawyers’, these days I’m better known simply as Simone Cureton - Surrogacy Lawyer. I still act for workers in workplace injury matters, but the focus of Equal Justice Lawyers is primarily surrogacy law.

I am an empathetic and understanding lawyer who is committed to achieving a positive outcome for my clients.
