Equal Justice Lawyers

A vision and ethos of Simone Cureton

After many years in legal administration, I developed an interest in the law and also gained insight into the stressful situation people experience navigating the legal system. I wanted to be able to do more to help and made the decision to balance my work and family life with study; and completed a Bachelor of Laws through the University of Adelaide.

Upon graduation, I secured a position with a large ‘defendant-side’ insurance firm. Following a brief exposure in that role to the South Australian Employment Tribunal where I instead acted for a worker, I knew my true passion lay with assisting injured workers navigate the Return to Work system. Since then, I have worked in a number of legal firms specialising in workplace injury law but decided to start my own practice so that I can offer an efficient and dedicated service, that always places my clients’ needs and best interests first.

I have a special interest in Surrogacy law after carrying a child as a gestational surrogate in 2018 and again in 2021. I pride myself on my unique insight into the intricacies of surrogacy. I am heavily involved in the community and want to ensure all teams receive accurate, fair priced advice and legal services.

During my university years and in volunteering with various community legal services, it became apparent to me that a large proportion of people simply do not have access to legal services - services that should be accessible to all! It was at this time that ‘Equal Justice’ was formed in my mind. My vision, within my practice areas, is to provide legal services that are accessible to all, and this is why I dedicate time to provide free advice to help people with untangling their problems.

As with most workplace injury practitioners, Equal Justice offers a ‘no win, no fee’ service together with fixed pricing. I have a ‘people focused personality’ which drives me to always put my client’s best interests first and to fight to ensure you receive what you are entitled to.

I am an empathetic and understanding lawyer who is committed to achieving a positive outcome for my clients
